Who was Francis I of France?
Francis I was from the House of Valois-Angoulême and ruled France as king in the first half of the 16th century. He was an ambitious man and even tried to be elected as Holy Roman Emperor, an effort that failed. His greatest opponent was the man that was elected emperor; Charles V of House Habsburg.
